Careers and Vacancies

South Western Ambulance Service is committed to being an employer of choice, offering good working conditions and wide ranging training and development opportunities. We employ over 2000 staff. Over 80% of our staff work on direct patient related duties providing:

  • out of hospital care and transportation
  • transport to individuals who are unable for medical reasons to make their own way to hospital. This is generally non-emergency work including admissions and discharges from hospital and attendance at out-patient clinics

Although we provide information about jobs on this website, if you wish to apply for a position of want to view current vacancies you should do so through NHS Jobs (see below).

Positive about Disabled PeopleThe Trust is working towards equal opportunities and having a workforce which represents the diversity of the people it serves. Due to under representation we particularly welcome job applications from people with a disability and people from minority ethnic groups. The Trust has policies and procedures which ensure that all applicants are treated fairly and consistently at every stage of the recruitment process, including considering reasonable adjustments for people who have disabilities.
