Responder Schemes

Fire and Rescue Co-responders

Fire Co-responders started in the South Western region in 1996, and have gone from strength to strength ever since.

We work in partnership with the Fire Services serving Cornwall, Devon, Dorset and Somerset operating a number of models.

Fire Co-responders attend in emergency vehicles and undertake extended responder training to respond to trauma incidents such as A category (and B category cardiac) medical emergencies.

There are 24 teams; the most recent to go live are the team based at Lyme Regis in Dorset.
